Case Study - Project Management 2

A Pharmaceutical client wanted to manufacture a product in NZ but needed assistance with the process. I conducted audits on various suppliers in NZ in association with my client to select and then develop this product. The project required the product be developed from scratch. So considerations were given to everything from marketing, sales, logistics, distribution, costing, regional quality and regulatory requirements. Including creating a formula, conducting production tests and clinical trials to test and validate claims.

Main benefits:

  • The project developed team capability, and develop emerging leaders in the organisation.
  • Coordination of marketing, sales with Quality and regulatory affairs.
  • Challenging formulation structure, and supplier capability.
  • Conducting production trials in a challenging environment, where all parties were learning about formulation behavioural characteristics.
  • This project reinforced the appreciation for seeking solutions in sub-optimal situations. The team excelled in this environment, but not without overcoming major constraints.
